How can teachers use the ELP to promote multilingualism?

All language teachers are, of course, committed principally to the languages they teach. However, teachers should also impart attitudes, concepts and methods that promote language learning in general. They may, for example, show interest in their students’ other language competences, encouraging them to refer to familiar, shared features in other languages and use the ELP to build bridges between languages. Detailed recommendations on how teachers can apply the ELP to specifically promote plurilingual and intercultural development at the appropriate level can be found here.
